Since the legalization of CBD after the passing of 2018 Farm Bill there has been an increase in the variety of cannabidiol products available. Because of this, there is a lot of misinformation on the internet about CBD benefits list. In many cases, it is sold as cure-all medicines or supplements. This can become difficult for a first-time buyer. For example, some reasonably priced products can be better than expensive ones. There are some important details that you have to consider when purchasing CBD products. The following is a quick list of Do’s and Don’ts.

THC Content

Ensure that the CBD product such as oil or tincture that you purchase is produced from the hemp plant. CBD oil derived from the hemp plant has 0.3% or less amount of THC which is legal. When the THC content is less than 0.3% it does not produce the high associated with it.

Make sure there are no harmful additives in the product because you are consuming it for your overall wellness. These can reduce its quality. Some times when you buy CBD vape oil it may contain Propylene glycol that is very harmful. The least amount of additives the better.

Know the Law

You must be aware of the laws in your state regarding purchasing and possession of CBD products. In some states they are considered as schedule I drug along with marijuana.

Third-Party Certificates

It is important that the label has a certification form third party labs. This ensures that the label has all the ingredients in the list, there are no harmful additives and contaminants such as heavy metals, toxic substances, etc.

The Source

It is better to avoid CBD manufactured in other countries. In the US there are guidelines for growing hemp in a sustainable and organic way without any chemicals or pesticides. This is because the plant easily absorbs contaminants from soil and those will be present in the CBD product such as oil. Hence it is better to purchase CBD products produced in the US.

It is important to not ignore the dosage guideline on the label. It will help you determine how much CBD is in every ml. The dosage varies from individuals. Higher dosage may cause side effects such as nausea, low blood pressure and dry mouth.

Do not Give to Pets

You may assume that since the CBD product is beneficial for yourself, you can also give them to your pets. But, you must avoid this as there are pet-specific CBD products available in the market tailored for their needs.
